A Shreveport man is arrested for stealing over $38,000 from a local bingo parlor.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator says 34-year-old Patrick Joseph Lincoln was charged after an investigation found he stole $38,941 from Veteran's Bingo Parlor, where he was employed.

On September 10, Lincoln took two checks belonging to the business and issued them to himself. One of them was for $10,000 and the other for $15,000. The next day at the end of his shift, he took all the money from the safe and ATM -- a total of $13,941 -- put it in a bag and left the business.

Detective Doug Smith issued a warrant for Lincoln's arrest, and Lincoln turned himself in at the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Office. At the time, he had more than $25,000 in cash on him. Lincoln told detectives the money needed to be returned to the bingo parlor.

Lincoln was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a felony theft charge, and the money was returned to the victim.
