Former Shreveport School Book-Keeper Arrested for Felony Theft
Thou shalt not steal! A former Christian school book-keeper has been put behind bars.
Back in February Detectives with SPD were called by the Director of Development with Evangel Christian Academy about missing money in the financial records from 2023-24.
The former book-keeper, Angela Nichole Stevens was named as the person responsible for depositing money from department throughout the academy during that timeline. Detectives took a close look at records, and they were able to determine that missing money from the school ended up in Stevens' bank account.
After counting up all the missing cash, Evangel took a hit of $85,700.25 due to Stevens' suspected theft of the school's money. On Monday of this week Shreveport Police took Stevens in to custody and charged her with Felony Theft.
From SPD:
"The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373."
