Shreveport Firefighter & Former Survivor Contestant Dies at 62

Shreveport firefighter Keith Nale, who appeared on two seasons of CBS's Survivor, has died after a bout with cancer at the age of 62. Keith's son Wes, who appeared on the show with his dad told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday,
He passed away this afternoon. He'd been battling cancer for the past few months and we found out about it in January.
Keith participated in two seasons of Survivor. The first time was Survivor: San Juan del Sur, where he made it all the way to the Final Four. His second time on the series was credited to a fan vote, putting him in Survivor: Cambodia, where he made it all the way to just before the Final Tribal Council. Nale was a fan favorite on the show because of his no-nonsense good nature and competitive spirit.
One of Keith's Survivor fellow contestants, Stephen Fishbach sent condolences on Twitter, saying he was "devastated" to hear of Keith's death.
“Hard to think of a purer spirit on Survivor,” Fishbach wrote. “He was always a delight, had great humor, told hilarious stories and found so much joy in life. We were never once aligned but he couldn’t have been nicer. He taught me to pluck a chicken.”
A visitation for Keith will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Grawood Baptist Church, 5841 Colquitt Rd, Keithville, LA.
