
Shreveport Man Arrested for Shooting a Man Suspected of Harming His Mom
SHREVEPORT, LA – Crime has been an ongoing priority for Shreveport leaders and it remains a huge concern for the entire community. Local police have been actively trying to get violent criminals off the streets.
In many of the violent episodes police respond to, the people know each other. And that’s exactly the case in this latest violent incident in the city.
Shreveport officers have made an arrested in connection with a shooting that happened Tuesday in the 2500 block of Quentin Street. The shooting happened just before 10am.
Officers rushed to the scene and found a man shot in the lower body. Detectives talking to witnesses in the area and found out that there had been some sort of dispute at the home shortly before the violence erupted. During the fight, Demohn Black allegedly shot the victim. There had been some sort of confrontation with the victim over a domestic violence incident involving Black’s mother.
Demohn Black faces a list of charges today:
- One count of Aggravated Second-Degree Battery
- One count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics
- One count of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
The man who was shot has been identified as Kevin Henry. He is also facing several charges today:
- Three counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
- One count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics
He remains in the hospital and will be formally booked into the jail once he is discharged from the hospital.
This case will remain under investigation.
