Here’s Our List of Top 20 Most Powerful Men in Shreveport Bossier

SHREVEPORT, LA - This is a list we update around here about once a year. This year, we had to add to the list. Our list from 2023 had the top 15 most powerful men in Shreveport and Bossier. The list for 2024 has expanded to the top 20. I think that has to do with more guys have been stepping up to make a difference in our community.

New Man at the Top of the List

We also have someone brand new to the list at #1. This man has not been on the list before, and I'm not really sure why. Certainly he has been powerful. But now he is among the most powerful in the nation and not only in Louisiana. Our previous #1 drops several spots since he stepped away from his public post in Caddo Parish. But he is still a force to be reckoned with.

We also have other newcomers on the list. There's a new sheriff in town. He's new to our list this year. We also have a state senator who makes our list for the first time. We have also added another Shreveport Councilmember to the list.

Who's Missing from the List?

Now, before you start scrolling through this list, I am sure I'm missing someone. To that person, I am sorry. Maybe they will make the list next year. Or maybe they fell off of the list. I have been asking lots of local folks about who they think are the most powerful men in the Shreveport Bossier area right now. These 20 names kept popping up.

Some of them are government officials. Some are spiritual leaders. A couple of them are in the business world. This list is a bit flawed because it often spotlights the folks who get all the attention and not the people behind the scenes doing all the day to day work. But these men have gotten to their positions by building coalitions and being good at what they do.

You will probably see one or two of these guys fall off this list after the fall elections, but we will have to wait and see. There are some men who have been on the list in previous years who are not included this time around. You might even find one or two on this list you wish didn't have as much power as they do. I'll let you figure that out.
