On April 7, around 8:20 a.m., officers responded to a theft in progress in the 7400 block of Line Avenue. Upon arrival, they were informed of a suspect who had stolen items from a local store and was attempting to flee.

Officers quickly located the suspect in the area of Thornhill Street and 76th Street. When Officers attempted to take him into custody, a struggle ensued, during which 35-year-old Christopher Harris allegedly bit one of the officers on the hand. Harris was eventually subdued and taken into custody after officers deployed a taser.

Christopher Harris has been charged with two counts of resisting arrest with violence, one count of battery on an officer, and one count of misdemeanor theft. The officer was treated for injuries and is expected to recover.
