SHREVEPORT, LA-    Shreveport Police respond to an assault and battery call which leads to a convicted felon being arrested.

On August 15th, 2023, around 12:30 a.m. Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to an assault and battery in the 900 block of Stephenson Street. On arrival, the officers contacted Travion Holden (12-03-00) and Quontavious Taylor (10-27-97). Officers conducted an investigation that led to a search of a vehicle in which an assault rifle and a large amount of narcotics were found.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that Holden was in possession of the firearm.  However, he was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. Holden was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute. The firearm and narcotics were seized as evidence.

Quontavious Taylor (10-27-97) was also arrested for possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous weapon and one count of possession of Schedule I with intent to distribute. Taylor's charges are considered non-violent under LA RS 14-2.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
