Oak Meadows Apartment Complex in Shreveport Hit by Another Fire
SHREVEPORT, LA – Firefighters in Shreveport responded to a late night fire at the Oak Meadows Apartment Complex at 1901 Centenary Boulevard. Firefighters got the call just after 11pm Monday night.
The first firefighters to arrive on the scene saw flames and heavy smoke coming from an upstairs corner unit in one of the apartment buildings. Firefighters quickly sprayed water on the blaze and they were able to get it out quickly before it spread to other buildings in the complex.
In all, 12 fire units including 34 firefighters responded to this blaze. They got the fire under control just before midnight.

This was the 2nd fire at this same complex in the same day. Earlier Monday, firefighters were called to a blaze in a different unit in the complex.
No firefighters were hurt battling these blazes and no one at the complex was hurt.
Oak Meadows remains vacant and there are no utilities connected. Investigators say this is the 7th fire at this complex so far this year. Firefighters urge anyone in the public to report suspicious activity at this complex. You are encouraged to call the police department so they can respond and remove vagrants before another fire or some other tragedy happens.
