Shooting At Probation & Parole Office In Shreveport Mid Afternoon
Gunfire broke out on Youree Drive in Shreveport this afternoon, in broad daylight. Witnesses say that it sounded like more than 10 shots were fired, and more than 15 emergency units were on the scene Monday afternoon.
Reports now indicate that the shooting took place at the State of Louisiana Probation and Parole Office at 2525 Youree Drive. With the shots being fired just after 3pm, and police responding before 3:30pm.
According to KTBS, a victim was transported to Ocshner LSU Health for treatment, but their condition was not immediately known. Nearly 10 police units have remained on the scene for hours, though emergency medical units had already left the scene.
This continues a trend that Shreveport has been dealing with when it comes to shootings taking place in highly populated areas, in the middle of the day. This includes a shooting over the weekend, where a man was shot in a "road rage" incident.
On Saturday, just after 1pm, in the parking lot of the Uptown Shopping Center on Line Avenue. In this altercation, a 60-year-old man was shot by another 60-year-old man when he approached his vehicle, allegedly. The shooting victim was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The most intriguing part of the "road rage" incident on Line Avenue over the weekend is that Shreveport Police have indicated that they do not plan to make any arrests.
