Election time is here. Candidates are qualifying to run in the October primary.

All eyes will be on the Governor's race. Incumbent, John Bel Edwards has drawn at least 3 opponents so far. Eddie Rispone and Congressman Ralph Abraham are expected to give him the most trouble.  But two other men have also qualified:Oscar "Omar" Dantzler a Democrat from Hammond and Republican Patrick "Live Wire" Landry have also signed up to run for Governor.

Lt. Governor William "Billy" Nungesser and Attorney General Jeff Landry have not yet drawn any opposition.

The election is set for Saturday October 12th with the general election set for November 16th.

On the local front, Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator has qualified. He will face at least 3 opponents. Eric Hatfield, Glenn Cornell and Mike Boyter have all signed up to run for Sheriff.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington has qualified for re-election.  So far, he is not opposed.
