I just had a spectacular trip to New York to attend the Alliance for Women in Media Gracie Awards luncheon.

It was my honor to be awarded one of these trophies this year. To be honest, it's because of great and loyal listeners that I have been able to do what I love for so many years. If you would like to see my Gracie and chat about the trip, you can meet me Tuesday at 11:30 at the Glenwood Tea Room on Line Avenue.

As you may or may not know, the owner of this special place is battling cancer and I wanted to send her a message of gratitude. I really hope we can pack this iconic place and help out this special family!!

Let’s talk inspiration. Real inspiration. Kera Hamilton, owner of Glenwood Tea Room, at age 33, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Yes - 33 - yes - 3 kids. I met Kera and her husband when discussing Skinny Louisiana - so kind, good natured, and she was holding her sweet baby the entire time during our meeting! She is off to fight this battle at MD Anderson. I’m asking you all support Kera and her family by making a stop at Glenwood Tea Room and purchase early Christmas presents, tea, and for breakfast/lunch. Be humble, be giving, be loving - for Kera is an inspiration in fighting this.

Please join me to help show support for Kera and the family. But if you can't make it, please pray for the family.
