Another suspect has surrendered in the case of stolen booze.

According to a press release from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department:

The second suspect wanted for stealing large bottles of alcohol from the Cellar Fine Wines and Spirits on Benton Road back in early December turned himself in to law enforcement late Monday night. His accomplice, Jermelra Pegues of Benton, turned himself in back on mid-December.

Darren Anderson, 38, of the 300 block of Caddo St. in Benton, contacted the Benton Police Department, and Anderson was taken into custody and transported by Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for booking; he is charged with theft of goods and arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Caddo Parish.

Anderson and Pegues entered the Cellar Fine Wines and Spirits on Benton Road on two separate days – Dec. 4 and Dec. 5 – and stole large bottles of Grey Goose alcohol. Surveillance camera footage captured the crime in action.

Once again, video surveillance footage and the public’s support proved vital to helping solve this crime.

“Good quality video footage of suspects and crimes help play an integral part in identifying and brining into custody these criminals,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. “It’s also support by the media and public in sharing this information on the news and social media – from finding missing children to capturing wanted felons – and these tips to Bossier Crime Stoppers are an essential element in solving crimes.”

Call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100 if you have any information on other wanted suspects or any criminal activity in your area. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and can receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
