[UPDATE] Search Is on for Attempted Murder Suspect in Shreveport

Shreveport police have converged around the Caddo Juvenile Justice Complex on Spring Street hunting for an attempted murder suspect.

Police tell KEEL News the 16-year-old suspect escaped early this morning. The 16-year-old was being transported to the complex by a police officer when he escaped at about 1AM.

He was arrested on St. Vincent overnight in connection with a shooting from last year. The teenager is described as a black male, about 140 pounds, 5'6. He was wearing a brown shirt and blue jean shorts.

We are awaiting details about how he got away from police. KEEL News will have updates throughout the morning.
