Sabine Parish Couple Sentenced for Counterfeiting
Some "funny money" leads to federal sentences for a Sabine Parish couple.
36-year-old Larry Malmay of Zwolle and 29-year-old Kellie Craig of Many have been sentenced for making counterfeit $20 bills. After their arrests, Malmay told authorities that he had planned to print more than $16-thousand worth of funny money to pay a drug dealer. Federal Judge Tom Stagg has sentenced Malmay to 27 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Craig received five years of probation. The equipment they used to produce the counterfeit money has been ordered forfeited to the government.
