Agencies Need Help Now for Victims of Ida in Louisiana
Several assistance agencies are converging on south Louisiana to help with disaster relief now that Hurricane Ida has moved on. The storm left a path of destruction and widespread power outages.
Thousands of homes and businesses have been damaged or destroyed.
More than 1 million people are without power during these hot summer days. They will need water and basic supplies for several weeks if not months. The relief effort has started, but these agencies will need our help.
For many people it will take many months to recover as they begin the process of rebuilding. But in the immediate future, these relief agencies will need help meeting all of the needs of our fellow Louisiana residents as they deal with this massive tragedy.
