As the drought persists, so, too, does the risk of more wildfires. The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of the Ark-La-Tex. It's in effect until 7 pm CDT this evening. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. The National Weather Service says a combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential. And today's forecast is calling for afternoon highs over 100 -- generally southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with locally higher amounts up to 25 mph and gusty -- humidity in the 15 to 25 percent range -- and no rain or thunderstorms.
