Some folks heard a loud explosion in northern Caddo Parish late last night and called the Sheriff's Office. Then the lights went out. But it wasn't an explosion in the true sense of the word -- it just sounded like one. SWEOCO spokesman Scott McCloud says a wayward raccoon made its way into the Vivian sub-station just before midnight and got tangled up in a 12-thousand volt regulator switch. That, in turn, caused a 69-thousand volt line to trip -- leaving more than 24-hundred SWEPCO customers in the dark. Repair crews had everything back on line and the lights back on by about 2:45 this morning.
