A long time Shreveport company is stepping up to breathe new life into some local parks. Martin Specialty Coatings has been in Shreveport for over 75 years, and the company is looking to give back to our community in a big way.

The company is launching their Martin Cares Community Event this spring. The project will be helping to revitalize a handful of local parks, in an effort to make them more useable, and welcoming. The project will involve multiple layers of cleaning and refurbishing. Martin Specialty Coatings plans to remove stains, clean graffiti, power wash, paint, and powder coat across multiple Shreveport parks.

Four Shreveport parks have been selected to receive the cleaning treatment. The parks selected are Fair Grounds Park (Boys and Girls Club), Kings Highway Park (Duck Pond), Hattie Perry Park, and Reisor Playground.

The company plans to do this over one weekend, April 30th - May 1st, which means they're going to need some help.

Martin Specialty Coatings are looking for corporate sponsorships to assist in their program, as well as volunteers. They're even inviting organizations to join them with volunteers to help with this huge weekend.

For more information on sponsorships or volunteering, you can reach out to Gillian Hakins, at 318-686-2400 ext 216, or by emailing gbrown@martinsc.com. You can also get information on sponsorships and volunteering on their website, where you can also fill out forms to participate.
