Playboy founder and global icon Hugh Hefner died Wednesday in his Beverly Hills home.

Hugh, often known simply as "Hef" introduced Playboy to the world back in 1953. Then, Marilyn Monroe graced the cover and the rest is, well, history.

Hefner quickly ascended into one of the most well-known men in the world. Known for being the ultimate playboy himself, and of course hosting world-renowned parties at his now-famous Playboy Mansion.

Hef parted ways (in a way) with that historic mansion back in 2016. The property was sold to the heir of Pabst Blue Ribbon for $110 Million. The sale had one strange condition however, and that was Hugh Hefner would continue living in his beloved home until he passed away.

Hugh Hefner peacefully slipped away to the other side leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for many years to come.

He was 91.
