Looking for a unique way to celebrate two big days in one? We've got it!

The Krewe of Gemini parade rolls on Valentine's Day this year, and we want to maximize your Mardi Gras-V-Day-combo experience with Party Gras, sponsored by Bud Light and Abita.

A couple of Gemini parades ago I got to be part of this special event myself, so I can tell you firsthand why this is the best way to enjoy the day. That year, the weather -- which is always tricky in Louisiana -- wasn't exactly what you'd call perfect for parade-going. It was chilly, misty, overcast...generally blah.

But I got to party in a huge tent set up right there at the beginning of the parade route, with a live band performing and enough room to get up and dance if I wanted, all the food I could eat, and a couple of free adult beverages. I also had a special place to park, so I didn't have to fight the crowds looking for an empty space.

That's what Party Gras is all about. It runs from 1-6 p.m. (extended hours, since the parade starts at 4), includes drinks, food and music with a live DJ. And you have plenty of time to catch lots of beads and other throws, and still go out for a Valentine's dinner with your sweetheart -- or maybe check out a live band at one of our downtown Shreveport music venues.

Tickets are $50 each, but well worth it. However...our VIPs can get a special discount, so it pays to sign up. You'll find a special promo code in your email that'll get you $15 off each ticket. In addition to all the perks I already mentioned, you'll also get the custom Party Gras beads.

Remember, this is a 21 and up party -- no young 'uns allowed. So find a sitter, or drop the kids off at grandma and grandpa's house, and come hang out with us during the Gemini parade.
