Bossier Parish Community College will hold a special Veterans Day ceremony next week to dedicate the portion of Hwy 80 in front of the school in memory of a local soldier.

Sgt. Craig Nelson of Bossier City was killed in Afghanistan in 2004. State Representative Henry Burns will present a commemorative plaque to Nelson's family at the ceremony.

The event will be held in front of Building A on Cavalier Drive. If it should happen to be raining, the ceremony will be moved inside the Building A lobby.

At the same ceremony, a commemorative plaque will also be presented to the family of Pvt. 1st Class Joshua Burrows, who also has a road in Bossier City dedicated to his memory.

Everything's going on Wednesday, November 11, at 11:30 a.m.
