Shreveport-Bossier Featuring Many Veteran’s Day Events & Honors

Being a military community with Barksdale Air Force base in our own front yard, we have a soft spot in our hearts in this area for veterans. And this weekend, we get the opportunity to show our military personel how much they are appreciated.

There are several events and free meals all across our area for local veterans and their families to enjoy.  Here are just a few of the events for this weekend.

On Saturday, "Got Your 6 Louisiana" is presenting VETFEST 2024.  The event gets underway at noon on Saturday at the East Bank Festival Plaza in Bossier City.  It features live bands, local vendors, a silent auction, jump house for the kids, as well as guest speakers and access to helpful resources for veterans and more.

Also on Saturday is the annual Veterans Honor Ceremony at 5:00pm at the Municipal Auditorium. On Sunday, November 10th, the Veterans Parade at 2:00pm at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds.  Veterans receive free admission to the fair. 

Monday, veteran's can enjoy a free breakfast at the VFW Post #4588 at 1004 Jeter Street in Bossier.  The breakfast is open to all active military, retired military, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, and their families.
