If you need some help getting into the spirit of Christmas, there are plenty of events this weekend right here in Shreveport/Bossier City to help you do just that!
Christmas in the Sky is Saturday night at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs. The event happens every other year and is a fundraiser for the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. The party takes over 500 volunteers to pull off and this year’s theme is ‘Broadway.’ More than 2,000 guests will enjoy live and silent auctions in 16 auction areas, entertainment on 10 stages, 12 bars and 11 themed buffets. Tickets are $300.
The Price is Right Live show is returning to Horseshoe’s Riverdome this weekend with host Jerry Springer Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Both shows are sold out!
This Saturday, it’s your chance to make Christmas bright for kids right here in our area during the huge toy drive going on in the parking lot in front of Walmart on Airline Drive for Operation Santa Claus and Roy’s Kids. The Krewe of Centaur will be on hand from 10am-2pm, weather permitting, with two of their signature floats, as well as Rob Simpson’s giant Tonka Trucks!
Benton’s Christmas on the Square Festival is this Saturday with their annual Christmas parade. Festivities start at 10am and include the ‘Dash Around the Square,’ a 5K run and health walk, live performances on two stages, around 70 food and craft vendors and a visit by the big man himself, Santa Claus! The parade starts at 3pm!
The James Burton Christmas Concert called Memories of Elvis is this Saturday night at Margaritaville’s Paradise Theater at 8pm. This 21+ event will feature Shreveport’s very own James Burton as well as Estelle Brown from the Sweet Inspirations and other special guests. Tickets are $30 for general admission and VIP tickets are $100. VIP tickets will give you special access before the show to Elvis’ close friends, James Burton, Estelle Brown, Elvis’ backup singer and Sam Thompson, his bodyguard.
