This increase will bring starting teacher pay in Bossier Parish to just over $53,000 dollars.

The board unanimously approved this increase which will go into effect at the start of the 2026-27 school year. This permanent bump in pay is not related to pending legislation on a possible stipend for educators this year.

Educators in Bossier Parish will also get a “Back to School” check that is a permanent stipend. It is being bumped up from $725 to $1,000 across the board. All full-time employees will receive the money.

Also, the board has ok'd an additional check in later November. That amount is being doubled. Educators and certificated staff will get $1200 dollars while support personnel will get $700.

Where Is the Money Coming From for the Pay Raise

This pay increase is possible because of savings in the state retirement system. That money is now being redirected to the employees.

Teacher pay was bumped up by $2500 dollars in Bossier Parish in April of 2025. This latest move will give teachers another $875 dollars a year.
