
One Man Dead in Officer Involved Shooting in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, LA - Some very tense moments in downtown Shreveport on Sunday ended tragically. At about 2 in the afternoon, Shreveport officers responded to a call at Marshall and Crockett Streets on a report of a man trying to break into cars. The man was reportedly carrying a gun.

One employee of a downtown restaurant tried to confront the man on Crockett Street, but he apparently ran off. When police pulled up on the scene, the man still had the gun and reportedly would not drop it. That's when he was shot by an officer. He was pronounced dead.

Detectives with State Police were requested by SPD to investigate the officer-involved shooting. Detectives worked most of the afternoon, processing the scene and gathering evidence. They also spoke with several witnesses.
