Louisiana Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his proposal to have New Orleans' French Quarter declared a state park.

Nungesser tells KEEL listeners that "for thirty years we've been talking about cleaning up the French Quarter, getting crime under control, and it just hasn't happened." The Lieutenant Governor adds that the Crescent City is the major attraction of the state, saying, "As goes New Orleans, so goes the rest of the state."

In reference to the implementation of his idea, the Lieutenant Governor says, "It's time to think outside the box. We'd have to have a cooperative agreement, maybe some legislation in Baton Rouge. But I figured we would start the conversation..."
