Drew Brees Group Bringing New Restaurant to Shreveport
A new restaurant co-owned by New Orleans Saints legendary quarterback Drew Brees is coming to southeast Shreveport. Brees was recently in town for the opening of his Surge Entertainment Complex in Bossier City.
Smalls Sliders is being built on Youree Drive at Carroll Street in the Broadmoor neighborhood. The lot has been cleared and construction crews are now starting the build.
Brandon Landry and Brees are two of the mayor investors in the company. They are also partners in the Walk-On’s franchise.
You will find other Smalls restaurants in Baton Rouge, but the expansion is moving full steam ahead now. Shreveport joins Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Monroe, Houma, Jackson, Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Houston and New Orleans with Smalls Slides on the way.
You won’t have to make huge decisions at Smalls. The menu is pretty simple. You can choose from four combo meals. They are one, two, three or four sliders with fries and a drink. You can also get party packs of sliders if you are feeding a larger crowd.
Smalls Sliders also features their secret "Smauce" and the fries are waffle fries. You can also grab a milk shake at Smalls. The milkshake flavors (so far) are chocolate, vanilla and cookies and cream. The plan for the Youree Drive operation includes an outdoor patio. But a key focus for the business model is quick drive-through service. You might even find workers in the drive-through lane to make sure the service is fast.
No word yet on when Smalls will be opening and we don’t know yet if Brees will make an appearance at the grand opening.
