The Associated Press reports that a man's drink scam defrauded singers Brian McKnight and Ne-Yo out of millions, after they were convinced to invest in a sports drink company, OXYWater.

The man, Kevin Foster, now faces 16 charges including wire fraud, money laundering, bankruptcy fraud and tax evasion. Foster served as Ne-Yo's business manager and convinced the star to invest $2 million in the company.

Prosecutors say Foster "didn’t disclose that he served as a controller for the business or that he earned commission on investments." He's accused of pulling a similar scheme on McKnight, who also invested in the company, though specific numbers were not mentioned in the AP's report.

On a more positive note, Ne-Yo's new album, Good Man, is due out early next month, on June 8. The project is led by the single of the same name, and the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has enlisted some big names to assist on the project. Stefflon Don, rapper 2 Chainz, R&B crooner PARTYNEXTDOOR, Latin superstar Romeo Santos and pop star Bebe Rexha are featured on the LP.

“This album focuses on the journey of what it is to be a good man: a good man to your spouse, a good brother to your brother, a good person to the world,” he told Rap-Up about the project. “I am not proclaiming to be perfect. A good man makes mistakes, learns from those mistakes, therefore to not then repeat those mistakes. Being a good man is a journey.”
