Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his plans to replace just retired SPD Chief Alan Crump and his proposed $220 million bond issue, which, with city council approval, could be on the ballot for Shreveport voters in November.

Perkins tells KEEL listeners about his meeting with Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce President Tim Magner, a meeting at which Magner told the city's chief executive that the bond amount may be an overreach, Perkins says, "Going forward, we look forward to working with them (the Chamber)."

The Mayor also talks about his recently appointed advisory committee to assist in the naming of a new police chief. The group, which includes Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, Caddo District Attorney James Stewart, local attorney Ron Miciotto and retired SPD Sergeant Jim Taliaferro, will present a list of their top three candidates to the mayor, who says he will most likely select the next chief based on their recommendations.
