Mayor Cedric Glover could be spending the next several days at Christus Schumpert Medical Center. He was visiting the "Blue Ribbon" Oak Park Microsociety Elementary School to meet with administration, teachers, and students when he slipped on a curb and fell. A release from his office says a preliminary exam shows that he's injured his thigh muscles. An MRI is scheduled to determine the extent of injury and whether surgery will be necessary. In the meantime, the mayor is expected to conduct the bulk of his duties electronically and by telephone like he did at this afternoon's specially-called city council meeting. The council, by the way, has approved puting that quarter-cent public safety sales tax renewal on a special December ballot.
