Mayor-Elect Chooses Next City Attorney
Mayor-Elect Adrian Perkins has made his pick for Shreveport's City Attorney.
Caddo Parish Assistant District Attorney Mekisha Creal has been named to take over the post that's been held by William Bradford since Mayor Ollie Tyler was elected 4 years ago.
Perkins is expected to make several other key appointments in the next few days. Many are speculating that the Chief Administrative Officer could be the next selection we find our about. Perkins has been meeting with current department to find out which ones he will keep on in those posts.
Substitute Police Chief Ben Raymond tells KEEL News he does want to be police chief and he has met with Perkins about the job and the future of SPD.
Perkins will be sworn in on December 29th at 9:30 during a ceremony at the Shreveport Convention Center. Business attire is required for this event. There will be black tie Mayoral Gala that same evening at 7pm at the Convention Center. Both events are free.
