LSU Lands A Big QB Fish
You might not know the name yet, but you will. It is Gunner Kiel. He's a 6'4, 220 lb pro-style QB from East High in Columbus, Indiana. He has signed a commitment letter to play for the LSU Tigers.
Coach Les Miles has had trouble over the years landing one of the nation's top quartbacks, but that looks to be changing. Rivals.com and Scout.com have Kiel at #1 at the QB position.
The Indianapolis Star reports Kiel he will be the highest ranked prep quarterback signee for Miles since he nabbed the troubled Ryan Perrilloux out of East St. John High outside New Orleans in 2005.
Kiel originally committed to Indiana and was also thinking about Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. But he's headed for Baton Rouge. He is expected to enroll at LSU next month and join the team in spring training.
