The State Health Department says 39 more human cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Louisiana this week.  That brings to 215 the number of reported infections in our state this year.  There have also been 10 West Nile deaths in Louisiana this year.  Of the latest confirmed cases, 11 were neuroinvasive disease -- the most serious -- and one of those was here in Caddo Parish.  There were 28 new cases of West Nile Fever -- including one each in Caddo and Desoto Parishes.  State health officials urge all Louisianans to fight the bite.  Put on repellant before you go outside, dress appropriately, and empty standing water around your home and business.
