How Many Law Enforcement Officers in Louisiana Have Been Killed in 2025
So far this year, there have been 5 officers or deputies killed in the line of duty in Louisiana. Last year, 3 officers were killed. In 2023, 8 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty.
Brock was shot and killed while serving a search warrant at the 1700 block of North Pine Street in Vivian.

Riley was shot and killed while interviewing a suspect at the Iberville Parish Courthouse in Plaquemine.

Eisworth succumbed to injuries he received in a motorcycle crash when he was intentionally struck on June 16, 2025.
Lieutenant Allen "Noochie" Credeur – Rayne Police
Credeur was shot and killed by friendly fire while serving a search warrant at the 500 block of East Harrop Street in Rayne.
Sergeant Grant J. Candies – St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office
Candies was killed by the driver fleeing a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Slidell near the Oak Harbor exit. Candies was deploying a spike strip to assist with stopping the vehicle pursuit when he was struck and killed by the suspects.

The suspect in the killing of Marc Brock has been captured. 58-year-old Nicolas Edward Alexander now faces a charge of 2nd degree murder and cyberstalking. Brock was executing a warrant for Alexander at a home on North Pine Street when Alexander allegedly fired several shots through the closed door. Brock was wounded and pronounced dead at the hospital.
