According to a new study by 24/7 Wall St. Louisiana has landed at number 5 in lowest median family incomes in the United States.
The study adjusted for each state's cost of living and other major factors. The household income range in Louisiana for a family to be considered middle income is $22,916 to $112,915.
Below is a list of states ranked highest to lowest in the 24/7 Wall St. study. Looks like Massachusetts got the over-all highest household income on the list. And, our neighbor Mississippi scored the over-all lowest. Louisiana didn't do much better than dead last. Earning just over 4 grand more than Mississippi.
