Louisiana Gets a New Lottery Game Today

Fans of the lottery are getting a new option today, since Louisiana is taking part in the multi-state Mega Millions drawings. Louisiana Lottery spokeswoman Kimberly Chopin says Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play by selecting five numbers from a field of 56 and one yellow Mega Ball number from a field of 46. She says Mega Millions is alot like the Powerball and features a starting jackpot of $12-million that keeps growing if it's not hit. Chopin says Mega Millions is played in 41 states and drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. She says Mega Millions players can also add the Megaplier option to their ticket for an extra dollar, which would multiply any non-jackpot prize up to four times.
