The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot remain exceedingly low for all players entering the drawing. Mathematical models show the probability of matching all numbers is 1 in 292.2 million. This mathematical reality applies to every ticket sold, regardless of the purchase location.

Players face similar steep probabilities for secondary prizes...even the million dollar payouts require matching five standard numbers. State lotteries, like Louisiana's, operate on systems designed to generate revenue for government programs...rather than producing frequent winners.

But apparently odds don't matter in Shreveport...

Two Shreveport Powerball Tickets Claim Million Dollar Prizes

The April 29th, 2026 drawing resulted in two payouts for at least $1 million each on tickets purchased within Shreveport city limits. An absolutely insane statistical improbability.

The winning numbers drawn for this cycle were 11, 38, 41, 42, 53 with a Powerball of 15.

One ticket sold in Shreveport matched the sequence to claim a flat one $1 million. While a second Shreveport ticket secured $2 million dollars, due to the player selecting the multiplier option...creating two local winners simultaneously. Or you could say two local millionaires simultaneously.

Shreveport's $1 million ticket was sold at sold by Airport Chevron at
5203 Monkhouse Drive, and the $2 million ticket came from the Raceway at 3701 Hearne Avenue. These retail locations will receive standard commission bonuses for processing these transactions.

Eleven Louisiana Residents Win Millions In Single Drawing

The two Shreveport tickets were part of a wider occurrence across the state of Louisiana during the April 29th drawing. Nine additional tickets sold in cities like Baton Rouge and Metairie also hit the $1 million threshold. The distribution of winning tickets spanned multiple parishes.

In all, millionaires were made in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Gretna, Marrero, Singer, and Shreveport.

State lottery records indicate 11 total winners secured at least $1 million dollars from this specific draw. The prize money will be dispersed after the winners submit their official claims to state headquarters...pending standard federal and state tax deductions of course.
