The State Fire Marshal's office has issued a burn advisory for the entire state because of trash fires that have gotten out of control.

State Fire Marshal Butch Browning told the Louisiana Radio Network he says a disturbing pattern of urban fires that got bigger than anticipated.

He added that a lack of rain has made the ground and vegetation dry across Louisiana and that makes it easier for a seemingly controlled fire to unravel into a bigger blaze.  Not only that, but windy conditions can help the fire spread faster than anticipated.

Browning considered issuing an all out burn ban, but decided that a burn advisory would make people more aware of the current conditions outside.
