Once again, the Louisiana Family Forum wants to recognize Louisiana's longest-married couple and they're accepting nominations now for the honor, just in time for Valentine's Day!

Think you've been married a long time? Sadly, I was only married for thirteen years, but the couple that was honored last year by Louisiana Family Forum, Patsy and Gail Richardson from Gonzales, LA, have been married for 81 YEARS! Sadly, Patsy passed away weeks before their 82nd anniversary last year.

What is Louisiana Family Forum all about?

If you think you're in the same league as the Richardsons, Louisiana Family Forum wants to hear from you! They're all about supporting traditional family values and describe themselves as a 'faith-based non-profit organization that's committed to advancing life, liberty, and limited government in the great state of Louisiana.'

What will the finalists in Louisiana Family Forum's Longest Married Couple Contest get?

Each of the top ten longest married will be recognized and will be entered into the “LFF Marriage Hall of Fame.” To nominate yourself or another couple, go to lafamilyforum.org. Hurry though, as nominations are due by February 6th, 2023. Because the competition is so stiff, Louisiana Family Forum is looking for couples married 70 years and longer.

In case you were wondering, the longest-known married couple ever in Louisiana hailed from Benton, LA, and were married for 84 years. Lawrence and Varrie Player passed two weeks apart in 2018, almost as if they couldn't stand to be separated. I hope and pray that one day we all get to experience that kind of love and devotion.
