Louisiana Bicentennial Celebration Planned

In a little over eight months, Louisiana will celebrate its bicentennial -- two-hundred years of statehood. Louisiana officially became a state on April 30th, 1812. But the chairman of the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission says a year-long birthday celebration is planned. Retired Lt. General Russel Honore' says the Bicentennial Commission is in fund-raising mode right now -- hoping to raise the dollars needed from private and corporate contributions rather than the state or federal government.
