With the cold weather, there are a lot of people who will be out in the cold with no place to go.  However, there are some organizations that want to help.

The Salvation Army's Merkle Center of Hope has some resources that can assist those out on the streets.

"In our Merkle Center of Hope, we have beds for 115 and if those are filled, we have cots we can put out," Major David Craddock told 710 KEEL.

The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is also available for those who need a warm place to stay during this cold stretch.

"Every year in cold weather, we open our shelter up for people to come in," Rescue Mission Executive Director Reverend Henry Martin said.  "Of course, we're open 365 days a year for that."

Reverend Martin added that his organization is always looking for donations to help the Rescue Mission operate every day.
