Local Golfer Dies In Apparent Lightning Strike

Local Attorney Jay Greenleaf was playing a round of golf at Eastridge Country Club in South Shreveport when an afternoon storm turned tragic.

Greenleaf was on hole number 7 when he apparently got hit by lightning.  Other golfers quickly called 9-1-1 and EMS crews arrived on the scene.  The 49 year old attorney was unresponsive and rushed to Christus Schumpert where he was pronounced dead.  Greenleaf worked for Anderson Oil and Gas.
