Matt Cox of Tampa, Florida, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the impact oh Hurricane Irma on the Tampa area.

Cox, who's married with a young child, tells KEEL listeners that, despite winds in the high double digits and "more rain that we've ever seen", he chose to ride out the storm in his home. He also expressed surprise that, with the worst of the storm having moved on, he suffered little damage to his neighborhood and; amazingly, never lost power during the night.

Cox also describes the condition around his city, including the sight of Irma pulling water from Tampa Bay, leaving the water level some 50 feet or more from its normal distance to the shore.
