Late Evening Crash Claims Life In Caddo Parish

Caddo sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatality crash that occurred on Old Mooringsport Road Tuesday night.

A 2004 Toyota Solara, driven by 27-year-old Heather Nicole Matingly, was northbound when it left the roadway in a curve just south of Mooringsport and struck a large tree. Matingly and a small dog inside the car both died in the crash. Matingly was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash occurred around 8:46 p.m. The Caddo Sheriff's Office, Caddo Fire District No. 7, and North Caddo E.M.S. responded.

The CPSO Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.
