
Caddo Deputies Arrest Woman After Car Chase Injures 2 Officers
Earlier this week a woman was arrested after a car chase that injured a Blanchard Police Officer and a Caddo Sheriff's Deputy.
The Blanchard Police got a call about someone stealing from Elsie's Truck Stop on Highway 1. When Police showed up they saw the suspect getting in to her car. An Officer got out of his car and walked up to the car to stop the person, when she drove off. When she drove off, she dragged the Officer with the car causing injuries.
Police spotted the car on Highway 1 heading south, and started the chase. The car didn't stop until it crashed in to a Caddo Deputy's cruiser near I-49.
46 year-old Elease Williams was arrested after the crash and is looking at some serious charges. She was booked for aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle upon a police officer, and aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce.
From Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office:
"The Blanchard officer was taken to Ochsner/LSU at 1501 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA, with moderate injuries. The deputy who was struck by the suspect's vehicle was transported to Willis Knighton North at 2600 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, LA, with non-life-threatening injuries."
