Shreveport’s Krewe of Centaur Reveals Grand Marshal for 2025
Shreveport's Krewe of Centaur is one of the largest Mardi Gras krewes in the state of Louisiana. Outside of New Orleans, it might be the biggest. But there's no doubt that in North Louisiana, Centaur is the biggest krewe...and throws the biggest party.
The Krewe of Centaur Grand Bal was this past weekend, with somewhere between 1,600 and 2,000 people packing into the Shreveport Convention Center. It was a massive party, with a massive crowd...and a massive amount of confetti.
But it wasn't just a big party to celebrate the Krewe and the royalty, there was some business to take care of. Including the reveal of this year's Centaur Grand Marshal. Which will be a Shreveport native...Tim Brando.
Tim Brando's broadcasting journey began in 1971 at age 14, calling high school football alongside his father. A Shreveport native, he built an award-winning career in sports media, working for ESPN, CBS Sports, and now Fox Sports. Brando has covered 26 sports, called games for major college conferences, and earned multiple Emmy Awards.
He was the original host of ESPN Gameday and has covered everything from NCAA basketball to the NFL. A Louisiana sports icon, Brando continues to call games while mentoring the next generation. He resides in Shreveport with his wife, Terri, and their family.
This year, Brando will lead the Krewe of Centaur parade as it rolls through Shreveport streets on Saturday, February 22nd. Make sure to watch for his Grand Marshal float, and see if you can catch one of the specialty beads thrown this year.
