Cassondra Glausier and JJ Conway from the Krewe De Les Femmes Mystique talk with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about this year's parade, set to roll this evening (March 5) at Pierre Bossier Mall.

The Krewe's "Children's Parade" will begin at 6:30 in the mall parking lot and run for about an hour. The parade's staging area and starting point will be near the JC Penney's store at the west end of the parking lot. Additions to this year's parade in clude, according to Conway, "a vendor's section, with food trucks and child related vendors and special "sensory friendly" section for kids who need a little bit less light and noise." Conway adds that the new section is "an excellent opportunity to let these children experience Mardi Gras."

Glausier, a New Orleans native, says that the local carnival parades "really bring it" compared to the Crescent City.

"We do things a little different here," she says, referring to area Krewe's building their own floats. "We can give New Orleans a run for their money."
