Juveniles Arrested for Car Theft in Shreveport
At 1:45a.m. The Caddo Parish Sheriffs received a 911 call about someone who had their car stolen The car was stolen from the 5000 block of Town North Drive.
Sheriffs deputies were able to spot the vehicle driving on Highway 538 and began to chase the stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen vehicle was able to make it in to the parking lot of the Royal Inn motel on North Market Street.
The driver (a 15 year old juvenile) bailed out of the vehicle and was able run in to a room at the motel, and the passenger (a 14 year old juvenile) stayed in the vehicle and surrendered to the Deputies. Both were taken in to custody.
The juveniles are suspected of being part of a group that were out pulling door handles, checking for unlocked cars. The stolen vehicle had been left unlocked and the spare key left inside.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested for Aggravated Flight, Simple Burglary of Vehicle, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The 14-year-old was arrested for Simple Burglary of a Vehicle. Both were booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Facility.
The case remains under investigation.
