Juvenile Arrested for Murder by Shreveport Police

SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police arrest a 17 year-old juvenile in California Avenue Homicide

On July 20th, 2023, at 8:25 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 6900 block of California Avenue. Responding officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began their investigation into the incident. After a thorough investigation detectives found that a seventeen-year-old juvenile was believed responsible for the shooting that killed the victim.

On August 8th, 2023, the seventeen-year-old suspect was arrested by members of the Violent Crimes Unit and charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder.

The once very popular Shreveport Holiday Inn Holidome turned, Ramada was once the place to be for folks traveling through Shreveport Airport. The great Holidome sat on Financial Plaza in Shreveport for many years, and was considered a great place to spend your layover or delayed flight. Now the property is in total disarray with garbage littering the parking lot, and the (pretty hilarious) sheet-rope hanging out of a broken top-floor window.
