George Zimmerman's arrest following a domestic dispute with his girlfriend is the latest in a series of recent brushes he's had with the law.

The 30-year-old former neighborhood watch volunteer who earlier this year was acquitted of any charges in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin will appear in court Tuesday to face new charges of aggravated assault.

Zimmerman was taken into custody Monday after girlfriend Samantha Scheibe told deputies he pointed a shotgun at her, smashed a glass table and pushed her out of the house they shared.

In a 911 call, Zimmerman denied pointing a gun at Scheibe, and claimed it was she who smashed the table.

A judge will decide whether to grant bond for Zimmerman, who was held in jail overnight.
